What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils to maintain good health and to revitalise body, mind and spirit.

Essential oils contain the vital life force of fragrant plants. They are essences that are extracted from the bark, leaves, petals, resins, roots and seeds of selective aromatic plants.

Benefits of Aromatherapy Massage

  • Relaxes mind and body
  • Relieves chronic muscular tension and stiffness
  • Releases and eliminates toxins from tense, knotted tissue
  • Stimulates and improves blood and lymph circulation
  • Restores joint mobility
  • Relieves tension headaches
  • Helps for insomnia
  • Helps for indigestion
  • Brings calmness and peace
  • Dispels for fatigue, irritability and depression
  • Helps for anxiety and stress
  • Releases blocked energy
  • Increases the general energy level
  • Gives a general feeling of well-being

Best results are achieved with initially four weekly 1-hour treatments and follow up sessions as required.

Receiving a good massage is like entering a special room until now locked and hidden away, likely familiar to those who practice meditation. There, healing can happen.

5 Element Aromatherapy Massage is based on Oriental Diagnose, traditional massage, plant medicine and the therapeutic application of essential oils. It is a holistic treatment, combining massage techniques with a unique and customised blend of oils to balance the energies on all levels of the human being.

The Five Elements

Next to the concept of Yin and Yang, the theory of the Five Elements is the second main pillar of Oriental Medicine.

The Five Elements can be understood as five phases or movements of Yin and Yang energy. Rather than being elements in a literal sense, the images of water, wood, fire, earth and metal represent natural forces that describe states and processes of life.

Each human being is a mixture of all five elemental energies. Imbalances occur when one or more elements become afflicted, producing symptoms that either reflect some form of “excess” or a “deficiency” / weakness.
